▾The FTXV25WVMA is the 2.5kW model in Daikin’s Cora range, pairing the FTXV25WVMA indoor wall unit with the RXV25WVMA outdoor unit. It delivers 2.5kW of rated cooling and 3.2kW of rated heating, with a modulating range of 0.9–3.7kW cooling and 0.9–5.4kW heating. That range matters more than the headline number: the inverter compressor throttles down to 0.9kW once the room reaches temperature, rather than cycling on and off, which is what keeps both the temperature and the running cost stable.
The unit uses R32 refrigerant and runs on standard 240V single-phase supply, so it suits any normal residential circuit. The outdoor unit is 30kg at 550 x 675 x 284 mm — compact enough for the tight side-of-house runs common in Singleton’s older brick-and-tile homes, where there is often little clearance between the wall and the boundary fence.
Two features distinguish the Cora from Daikin’s entry-level Lite range. Coanda Airflow directs discharge air along the ceiling rather than straight down, which avoids blowing cold air directly onto anyone sitting below the unit. Those cooling figures are at the top of the 2.5kW class.
In practical terms, the 0.49kW rated cooling input means the unit draws roughly the same power as a couple of desktop computers when running at rated capacity — and considerably less than that once the room is at temperature and the inverter has throttled back. For Singleton households with rooftop solar, a load this size is comfortably covered by daytime generation, so summer daytime cooling can cost close to nothing in practice.
The heating star rating is lower than the cooling rating, which is normal for this class and reflects the ZERL heating test conditions.
